Zweig Bernanos is a play that imagines a meeting between the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig and the French thinker Georges Bernanos in 1942, both exiled in Brazil. Through a passionate and tension-filled dialogue, they discuss the role of the intellectual in the face of horror, ideological manipulation and loss of hope. With opposing personalities but a common commitment to humanism, these two giants of European thought invite us to reflect on history, culture and the present.
