9e Musique@17h: ArtChoral - Appreciate the beauty, intimacy, and power of chamber vocal music in the incredible Art Deco heritage hall of Montreal, Le 9e Grande Salle! The professional singers of ArtChoral perform rich vocal works from the ATMA album "Renaissance" by ArtChoral.

9e Musique@17h,  on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM for a duration of one hour, invites the public to enjoy a drink during the concerts, meet the artists, and book at the 9e Île-de-France restaurant for the post-concert dinner.

🌎 ArtChoral is carrying out a unique project in the world – ART CHORAL – tracing the history of professional choral singing over six centuries, with 11 ATMA albums, performed from coast to coast across the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada. After the concert, meet the singers and discover their incredible experiences across the country!
🎤 ArtChoral presents "Renaissance," with works from their recently released album on ATMA. Renaissance vocal music is elevated by polyphony, where several independent voices blend harmoniously, creating rich textures and dazzling musical interweavings.
🎵 Discover the works of Juan del Encina, master of Spanish Renaissance, whose lively villancicos and expressive romances capture the spirit and tenderness of Renaissance Spain.

  • Kerry Bursey, tenor, called "a mega musical talent" (NRC, Netherlands), with a voice described as "a sweet troubadour's dreamy reverie" (Ôlyrix, France).
  • William Kraushaar, bass, whose deep and rich voice resonates in concert halls across Canada.

Join us for the chamber music concerts 9e Musique@17h with ArtChoral, performing gems from the "Renaissance" album by ArtChoral, highlighting the major achievements of vocal music from this period of European "renaissance" in culture, art, and politics. The invention of printing, the secularization of music, and travel led to brilliant regional styles: Italian madrigals, French chansons, and English lute songs, beautifully performed by the professional singers of ArtChoral.
